Will is currently a freelance trombonist and private lesson instructor with
Leander Independent School District just outside of Austin, Texas. He is formerly the Low Brass Professor at Lone Star College – Kingwood, near Houston, Texas. Will is now in his 6th year of private teaching and his students have been successful at the region, district, and state levels and have received scholarships to prestigious universities.

Will is originally from North Carolina and attended the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was the first trombonist to ever receive the Kenan Music Scholarship, a full ride merit-based award. He was able to study with the former principal trombone of the North Carolina Symphony, Michael Kris. During his sophomore year at UNC, Will won his first professional orchestra job as Principal Trombone of the Durham Symphony Orchestra. A year later he won his second job as Principal Trombone of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra.

Wanting to continue his education, Will attended graduate school at
Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On a full-assistantship at
Duquesne, Will studied with members of the Grammy award-winning arts
organization, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. His primary teachers included Jim Nova, Jeff Dee, and Murray Crewe. During his studies he performed regularly with River City Brass, which is the only full-time professional brass band in the world, as well as founded the popular Pittsburgh funk band, Run the Meat.

Will is currently accepting new students for the 2019-20 school year. He provides lessons and masterclasses all over Central Texas for Trombone,
